For Karen: I promised a picture of the urangle. The hospital had a Christmas tree and decorated it with "found" objects. There was unique recycling of masks, urinals, medicine cups, a prescription or two from Rudolph or Frosty the Snowman - I think they are GP's, accu-check strip bottles, and a few donated ornaments.
That's all tonight - oh the ballet was great - my youngest grandson took a younger yet friends and watching the little boys on the edge of the chairs with their eyes sparkling was the greatest present in the whole wide world.

Welcome HOME!!!!!
I hear I see you Tuesday! Yea.
Will be hard to do a real catch up then. Maybe we can get together while I am off?
recycled decorations are the best kind....
Great tree! I love the idea of 'found' decorations. If you're looking for donations, I would donate the Terminator Nativity. just think about it....
Glad your trip was a safe one. I love what you did with your tree. I like that better than the trees that all look alike. Next year I think I will use a southern pine for my tree. And decorate in a non-traditional way.
That's fantastic! I love it! I've always wanted to decorate a tree with left over barbie bits - heads, arms, legs. It's what should happen to all the world's barbies.
That is very cool. It shows the kind of humor that can occur in some hostpitals doesn't it? I wouldn't have guessed from the photos that they were homemade or made from such items.
I am so pleased to hear about your trip and I hope visiting everyone, your kids and family will wash away some of the negative things that you have had to deal with back in wyoming and give you a fresh perspective.
Fresh perspective - yeh! the cold land is faraway.
On my way for overdue ladies' exams, uh, hum.
hatti - yeh, we'll name a time.
I think the terminator would look grand there.
Going to try to get the tree up tonight - the first challenge is that no one knows where in the garage it could be. I love natural ones - but in the interest of cleaning - we gits the fake one this year...IF we can find it!
karen - go for barbie doll art - really, some artists are pulling in big time with mashed barbies - I have an old hoochie coochie doll from a carnival in the late 40's - its gonna be art one of these days....

The Urangel is funny. How resourceful the hospital is!
We have a distinct Martha thing going on here in my house...nothing at all to do with me... But I like the idea of recycling things into Christmas ornaments. There's so much waste at this time of year in other ways.
Wouldn't it be neat to have a contest for decorating a tree whereas the only requirement is no manufactured christmas items could be placed on it? Everything must be either hand made or recycled items. Might be a thing some of us bloggers could do for next year.
Hey, the urinal angel is really quite pretty! I'd never know men used to piddle in it...
Some of our best ornaments were made from 'nothing'.
Home made is the best, every time, no matter what it's made from. And angels are ALWAYS tops in my book!!!
I love this! Hey, it's all about having fun and being in the spirit!!
