Folks, Ahm just proud ta know that my Wahoming drawhl has gone to the bottom of the pahl. When I first came here I couldn't understand anyone. My first boss ask me to poleeze ask for the spelling of names when people called. Anyway, here is my mix:

I did this one, too. I was 50% general American English, but less Dixie and Yankie, more mid-western. None of this means anything to me really, since I have no idea what the liguistics are like in these areas. If there were a Canadian quiz, though, that would be cool.

Although I rated 0% Dixie, I find myself sliding easily into a drawl when I'm around southerners.
I've never understood how people can say there's a MN accent. We sound just like all the people on TV!
These things are fun. I remember moving to Baltimore from Wyo for a few months - people laughed at me - they couldn't understand me - sometimes I wonder when we blog with our European friends if we don't puzzle them somewhat?
I think the quiz should include Canada & England - we all speak "English" - yes?
Someday I would like to do a post on sayings from different parts of the country - my grandma was from Missouri and she had a million.
I find southern accents charming - even more so when a southerner moves elsewhere and they are the only ones speaking "southernese." My grandkids speak it fluently, LOL.
