Mountain Fires

It seems amazing that some of the homes were standing while fire obviously circled the houses. The burning continued to the highway and jumped across.

Was worried about my mother because of smoke - offered to go get her, board the dogs because of the apartment, but she wouldn't leave the dogs, so she stayed inside for the week it burned. A home did burn, but the rest were somehow spared.

In the Crowsnest, where I was last week, you could see how close the big fires from a couple years ago got to the towns - not very far at all..... Nature sure is powerful and can be damn nasty too!

Forest fires leave such incredible devastation behind. The forest will regenerate itself eventually, but in the meantime it's quite a sight to behold.

We're STILL getting tons of smoke from fires in the States, btw!
