More on Fashion

Finishing up my fashion fling tonight, the little yellow babydoll dress looks exactly like a pair of "baby doll pajamas" I wore in the fifties as a young teen. To bed only. The little print strapped full short print dress, I had sewed up several like this in the 70's to wear in the hot Iowa summers. Living in ultra conservative communities did nothing for my reputation as I sewed away and wore them about. The other frock, brown print, looks like something I would have purchased the material on sale and whipped up and refused to wear unless it was to a Woodstock type event. The sparkling pant and top - ahhhhhhhhhhh, I wants it. I really wants it.

I didn't know you used to sew!! Me, too! Made all my clothes for several years in jr and sr high. My goal was for them NOT to look "home-made".

Cool fashions. Where'd ya find them?

On line, hattigrace, online. I want to know where I can buy the silver one! If I was 17, I'd buy the others too.

Being so tall and then living in Wyoming (and material used to be less than buying a completed outfit) where there were no stores, I had to sew. I love to sew. But I don't know if I have the patience anymore! I need to make some curtains, long elegant silk or flyaway materials - but I don't know anyone who would hang them for me!

I would if I was closer to you. LOL.. Nice fashions. I love that thin strapped dress with the flowers. Hubby thinks I am nuts for liking flowers on my clothes. I dont look like such a wide load when I wear flowers or printed clothing.

I don't know where I have been - went to the OB/GYN office today - had to leave the hormones behind when I had the pulmonary embolism....not without some side effects - anyway, that is where I catch up on a lot of magazines....these styles are very in right now, very in....the little dresses.

Dresses are very in. The "sack" has even made a comeback. My mother, wishfully wanting one herself, bought them for me. Back when. I used to like dresses - but pantyhose drove me away from them....when it gets hot it feels like ants biting your legs...then there were the days of hose that were never long enough - and oh, hey, remember your moms' girdles? You weren't properly dressed unless you had one of those dudes on. Hot, yes! Uncomfortable - yes! I love the "new" barelegged look. For several years now I have found no dresses I want to wear.....

my daughter and I have been colaberating today - thinking about making punk clothing to sell on ebay. Maybe???????

I love the pant and sheer blouse too...that is just absolutely something I would wear...not the others.

I love the colour and the fabric...and I LOVE these posts about fashion Gardenia...you go girl!!!!

I am miserable at sewing and I had so much admiration for the girls in school who would make an outfit the night before a party and look so amazing!

I mentioned in last post of yours that you should check out Prject Runway...it's on dvd now for rentals...and the contestants are so bloody talented it is amazing and humbling!
